Joseph J. Walsh
Mr. Walsh has a vast background of construction experience spanning nearly 40 years in the construction industry. After graduation from the University of Miami, Mr. Walsh joined Frank J. Rooney, Inc. for four years where he entered as an Estimator and eventually served as a Project Manager. The projects he was involved with were primarily high-rise structures, many of which are along the Galt Ocean Mile in Ft. Lauderdale.
After only four years, Joe’s project management experience opened up an opportunity for him to become Vice President of Operations with another major construction firm. In the next six years, Mr. Walsh worked on many high-rise structures, office buildings and other buildings of many different types. In 1971, market conditions were right for this young, ambitious builder to open up his own general contracting firm as J.J. Walsh Construction, Inc. Having a ‘silent’ yet vested partner, Joe directed, very successfully, all operations of this firm until March of 1984. In 1984, Mr. Walsh sold his interest in J.J. Walsh Construction, Inc. to his partner.
Since 1984, from an initial start-up investment of $15,000 and a first year volume of approximately $1 million to an average volume of nearly $50 million, Joe Walsh along with his son Tom, formed JJW Construction, Inc. Tom Walsh has been President of the company since 1990 and has continued the successful management and performance of the company with The Tradition of Excellence.
