The Spa at Fisher Island

Listed on the National Trust for Historic Preservation’s Register of Historic Places, The Spa presented itself as one of the most technically challenging projects at Fisher Island.

It’s location in the historic former Vanderbuilt seaplance hanger demanded the utmost in technical expertise in order to assure compliance with very stringent guidelines set forth by the trust for this historic renovation. Existing cast-in-place decorative concrete beams were duplicated with JJW’s in-house concrete crews and existing sculptures were reproduced with custom molds while the world renowned Spa interiors were constructed including in ground pool, spas and steam rooms. Special features include a retractable skylight roof over the indoor pool.

JJW’s ability to meet these rigorous demands not only assured the Owner of a technically correct product, but also maintained for them a small piece of very rich history.
